“Hypnosis is a natural process in which your mind is more receptive to positive suggestion, insight, and releasing negative feelings. It’s your mind’s ability to rapidly integrate new skills, strategies, and strengths. A professional hypnosis practitioner can help you to take control of your life: your habits, behaviors, and feelings.”

While our conscious mind may appear to hold the key to how we respond to the world around us, unconscious programming is actually responsible for 90 percent of our behavior. If you find yourself in an ongoing battle to reach your personal goals, instead of fretting your lack of self-discipline, it’s time to explore the possibility that you harbor an unconscious plan that conflicts with your desires. This all-to-human battle with change happens when the predictability-seeking subconscious mind judges the safety of new behaviors based on familiarity. The problem is that for the sake of efficiency our unconscious mind over-generalizes from prior experience and ignores important differences in circumstance. The fact that the part of our mind that controls most of our behavior is often using faulty logic and fear- based predictions to thwart our conscious goals, suggests that any attempt to undo resistance needs to consider that our unconscious feels there are benefits to staying the same that we can’t see. Even though I’m a strong proponent of psychotherapy as a way to develop an awareness of our internal conflicts, it’s not always the most efficient way to override stubborn unconscious programming. Hypnosis works differently than psychotherapies based on verbal logic. It works to align our conscious and unconscious intentions by using the imagination – the native language of the subconscious mind. It creates a unique imaginal experience designed to address the goals of the client. Imaginal journeying can transport us to another place and time in a similar way our imagination allows us to time travel while reading a book or watching a movie. The right hypnotic journey can undo unconscious resistance to change and get the unconscious mind on board with conscious goal achievement. If you’re struggling to change unhealthy habits; to combat anxiety; overcome a phobia, or even to perfect your golf swing hypnosis may be your ticket to success. A simple shift in perspective can make change easier than you think.
